ANB8 – Checking Air-Spring Strut on the Front Axle and Replacing it if Necessary (Recall Campaign )
Model Line: | Taycan (Y1A/Y1B) |
Model Year: | 2021 |
Concerns: | Air-spring strut, front axle |
Cause: | There is a possibility that the air-spring strut on the left and right of the front axle on the affected vehicles was not manufactured according to specifications.
This can cause the circlip on the top of the strut to come loose and release the air in the air spring. The driving characteristics of the vehicle can be adversely affected, increasing the risk of an accident. |
Action required: | Check the air-spring strut on the left and right front axle and replace depending on the test result.
Information Depending on the result of the check and order type, the following scopes may arise: Scope 1: Checking air-spring strut on the front axle at the left and right Scope 2: Replacing air-spring strut on the front axle at the left or right – relevant for Taycan Scope 3: Replacing air-spring strut on the front axle at the left or right – relevant for Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo, Taycan Turbo S Scope 4: Replacing air-spring strut on the front axle at the left or right – relevant for Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo Scope 5: Replacing air-spring strut on the front axle at the left and right – relevant for Taycan Scope 6: Replacing air-spring strut on the front axle at the left and right – relevant for Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo, Taycan Turbo S Scope 7: Replacing air-spring strut on the front axle at the left and right – relevant for Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo Information If there is a complaint about a vehicle with a mileage/km of more than 18,641 mls/ 30,000 km on one side, both spring struts must be replaced. |
Affected Vehicles: | Only vehicles assigned to the campaign (see also PCSS Vehicle Information). |
Chronology :
In Nov. 2022 Porsche was made aware of the subject by investigation of field cases with dislodged suspension struts. This led to further analysis at the sub-supplier and revealed a potential for 28 affected vehicles in the U.S. manufactured between 07/27/2021 and 02/03/2022.
On Dec. 07, 2022 Porsche therefore decided to recall the subject vehicles in order to prevent any possible negative effect on the handling capabilities of the subject vehicles.
There have been 4 warranty claims from April, 2022 to October 2022.
