This could impair proper front passenger air bag deployment. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : Impaired front passenger air bag deployment or the potential for resulting dashboard damage during deployment could increase the risk of front passenger injury in a crash. Description of the Cause : The adhesive used between the air bag lid and the leather dashboard cover may not meet the requirements as specified in production process. The potential irregularity was related to a test at high test temperature. In order to analyze possible effects of this issue on the deployment behavior of the passenger airbag and the behavior of instrument panel components, further tests were carried out in a certain temperature range. On November 24, 2022, further test results indicated a possible influence on passenger air bag deployment. This was further analyzed. In parallel to this, the affected production period and the resulting particular batch was identified. On November 30, 2022, Porsche decided to recall the subject vehicles. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : The dashboard will be replaced. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Parts assembled outside of a defined production batch are unaffected because correct adhesive was utilized during assembly.
