Porsche has determined that certain 2013 to 2015 Model Year Porsche Boxster and Cayman Vehicles have a potential issue with the wishbone control arm mounts on the rear suspension of the vehicle. You received this notice because our records, which are based primarily on state registration and title data, indicate that you are the current owner of a vehicle affected by this recall. What is the issue? There is a possibility that rear suspension control arm mounts that do not meet the required specifications were installed on the rear suspension of the vehicle. If this is the case, one or both wishbone mounts on the rear suspension can break, which could cause loss of control of the vehicle. What will Porsche do? Porsche is conducting a safety recall to replace both of the rear suspension control arm mounts on the vehicle, free of charge once parts become available. What should you do? You can continue to use your vehicle until the remedy has been carried out. Porsche recommends against use on race tracks before the remedy has been completed. 1 AMB7 Recall campaign – Replacing axle carrier side section AMB7 Recall campaign – Replacing axle carrier side section Overview There is a possibility that carrier side sections that do not meet the required specifications, due to a manufacturing error, were installed on the rear axle of the affected vehicles. If this is the case, one or both wishbone mounts on the carrier side section can break over the service life of the vehicle. If both mounts break, this would result in impaired wheel guidance.
