Incorrect Thread may Allow Ski Bag to Detach
If the ski bag detaches during a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.
Summary
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain accessory equipment ski bags, part number 95B.860.811, sold for use in Cayenne and Macan vehicles. The ski bag fastening strap may have been sewn with incorrect thread, possibly resulting in the strap seams tearing and the ski bag being unsecured in the event of a crash.
Remedy
Porsche will notify dealers, and the dealers will replace the ski bags, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche’s number for this recall is AJ12.

| Information: | Ski bags on which the belt strap was sewn using unapproved sewing thread were supplied in the affected vehicles.
The belt seams in question are not therefore as strong and robust as they should be. As a result, there is a possibility that the belt strap will tear if pulled too tightly and the ski bag may not be held in position. | ||||||
