Chronology :
End of April, 2024, Porsche was informed about two isolated cases outside the U.S. where the subject vehicles rolled away despite being placed in the park position (P). Both accidents only resulted in bodywork damage and no injuries.
The analysis of both cases revealed two possible causes in the production process of a limited number of potentially affected vehicles. More specifically, the subject vehicles had off-line rework performed that was outside of normal assembly. Porsche determined this resulted in the potential for damage and/or incorrect assembly of the subject cable and clip.
On May 8th, 2024, Porsche determined a safety defect and decided to recall the identified vehicles out of abundance of caution.
